Educational opportunities
-Prime Aquatics HOME SCHOOL SWIM PROGRAM offers swim lessons, fitness groups, and open lap swim options.
WHO? Lessons: 3-12 year olds Fitness: 8-18 year olds Open lap swim: 18+
WHEN? Monday - Thursday. Beginners: 2:00-2:45pm; Advanced Beginners: 2:45-3:30pm; Fitness Group: 2:00-3:30pm
WHERE? Green Meadow Country Club (GMCC) Indoor 25 meter pool; 1700 Louisville Rd Alcoa, TN 37701
HOW MUCH? $10 per class, paid monthly. Adult Lap Swim = $3 per swim
- Blount County Public Library is excellent and offers a number of excellent learning opportunities.

- Tremont has free or fee programs that are exceptionally educational (butterfly tagging, bird banding, etc.). http://gsmit.org/
- Maryville College offers choirs for students from mid-elementary up through high school (for a fee). There is also the Community Chorus for older teens and parents. Occasionally, MC will also reach out to the home school community with other educational opportunities.

There are also a multitude of volunteer opportunities which would be considered educational, such as becoming a citizen scientist at Tremont and volunteering there to help with their scientific research, volunteering with Wilderwood Service Dogs, The Blount County Animal Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, Blount County Youth Court, Second Harvest Food Bank, The Welcome Table (at New Providence Presbyterian Church on Tuesdays and 1st United Methodist Church on Thursdays), and Wears Valley Ranch.
